Question Hood Latch Broke - Need Help - Replacement

I was attempting to pop the hood on my c320 sport today and the handle (that ejects out of the hood) was pulled by me. I pulled it too hard and broke it off. Now, I do not know how to open my hood since I do not have a handle to pull. I looked online in a mission to find out how much it is for a new hood latch and I found some online for under $15.00. I am considering purchasing one, but I cannot find any instructions on how to replace the broken one. Please help me if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

not a big deal. just grab ahold of the cable where the hood release was and pull it hard. the hood will open. If you cant see it, just remove the lower panel. its there.

to replace the release, it is a breeze. it is held onto the lower panel by one screw. sometimes the hard part is getting the cable into the piece. When I do them, I close the hood, and then grab ahold of the cable and pull it hard, the hood will pop open, but dont let go of the cable. then route it into the release piece. then screw it into place.

I think he means the secondary catch. You know, the tongue sticking out from the grille?
