Anybody ever had any problems with their key engaging and locking into place, but the car will not start? The car will eventually start, after removing the key, and trying again. Sometimes it takes as many as ten attempts to get it to turn over. I've been experiencing this intermittent problem for several months now. Can't seem to trouble shoot it.

I dont know what causes this, but I also have the same thing happen once in a while. its not as severe as yours tho! usually it happens once or twice and then im good.
I've tried cleaning the IR lenses, as well. It still happens. It's as if the starter is being interrupted by the security system. Unfortunately, the car is out of warranty. I'd really like to diagnose this without having to take it to the dealership, if at all possible.
