Greetings to all,

I hope this thread is still read by some of you experts... Please help

I was wondering would this work on my MERCEDES VIANO (March '04.) with COMMAND 2.0 ??? I got this cable B 6 6 56 0108 thinking this will do the job by just plugging it on the back of the HU, but no luck. Only the C1 (8 pin) connector is free the C2 is taken!!! Do I need to do the MOD or is there a cable I can get that plugs in to the back or somewhere else. The menu of the HU has the AUX (When you press the SYS button it shows on the bottom). Please help.

Thank you and sorry for my ignorance.

here is the pinout for the 18 pin connector:

Pin 01 Wake up (Robert-Bosch CAN)
Pin 02 sound TV right
Pin 03 sound TV GND
Pin 04 aux in right
Pin 05 aux in GND (right)
Pin 06 speedsensor (à ABS)
Pin 07 interior CAN shield
Pin 08 interior CAN Lo (for the buttons on the steering wheel etc)
Pin 09 interior CAN Hi (for the buttons on the steering wheel etc)
Pin 10 Wake up D2B à to CD-changer (to wake up the cd-changer)
Pin 11 sound TV left
Pin 12 sound TV Shield
Pin 13 aux in left
Pin 14 aux in shield (or aux in GND left)
Pin 15 reverse signal
Pin 16 Robert-Bosch CAN Shield
Pin 17 Robert-Bosch CAN Lo
Pin 18 Robert-Bosch CAN Hi

take a look at pins 4,5,13,14 and see if wires are present. if they are than there shoule be a different cable that attaches near the glovebox. more than likely they are empty which means that the pins must be added. you can take the adapter cable that you have and remove the wires/pins from the connector and then carefully insert them into the proper slots on the 18 pin connector.

Thanx mate, I will check this out later. On the cable I have I have a white, brown clear and a black that is a loop from the clear pin to another empty pin. I would presume that the clear and the black loop are the GND. Thank you.

Greetings from Medjugorje,

Just a note to tell you that I got this running on COMAND 2.0 on this Viano of mine. The one thing I wanted to add was: You can split open the old conector cargully with a sharp blade and get the little terminals out with out damaging them and just plug them in to the connector that goes in to the COMAND. This way you save on getting and attaching new terminals...

Peace.

p.s.
I see there is a discusion on what is the cost of the cable, I paid 15 EUR directly from MB and the code is: B 6 6 56 0108 (Got it in Sindelfingen, Germany).

Will the AUX install work on a 2006 C230? Or is there already an AUX jack someplace?

spoons....

1)Can you please post a direct link to the aux connector you bought?

2)Which part of the stereo exactly does the connector you bought connect to?

3)Can you post a pic of the connector?

4)Would you say this is a good alternative to the Soundgate Almbaux/Dension Gateway 500?
