I have a 06 C230 Sport/automatic that has about 5000 miles on it. I have two problems so far and am gong to see the dealer next week.
The rear end noise:
When I brake with the car just starts in cold, a low tone popping noise can be heard from the rear end under the car, close to where the differential and rear links are. The noise always happens when the car is close to a full stop (at around 5mil/h). It sounds like a metal piece is blend, or a heavy metal can is opened. If I switch the gear to neutral before I brake, the noise will not happen when I break, but most likely will happen when I immediately put it back in Rear. Sometimes the noise happens when the car goes over an uneven surface when the car is cold. The noise goes away after 5-10 minutes driving.
The wind noise on the driver side window:
An annoying wind noise is heard when the speed is over 40 miles/hr from the top of the driver side front window area. If I don't close the window completely (the window is closed, but the glass is not touching the upper frame), the noise is much better. So it seems to me it is not the seal is leaking, but something interrupts the air flow to make the noise. Further, I can see that if I move the glass all the way up, the upper window frame is being pushed up and blend a bit, which makes the door seal between the door and the body go outward. I tried to pull the door seal in a bit from its position (no much I can do, because the door deal is stuck with the door frame with a thick grease), and it seems to low down the wind noise significantly, but there is still some there.
Anyone has the same problem? Please give me some advice.
Thanks.
