Have owned nothing but German the last 15yrs (VW) and currently have an 02 Passat GLX V6 (92k) and 92 Cabriolet (80k). Wife says we have to keep the 92 so the 02 is being traded...hopefully! Anyway have been toying with Audi A4, new Passat (I know totally different class and drove the 3.6L last night..sweet) and the c-class. I have heard and read horror stories about all, but also good ones. Here are a few questions about MB's.
Is the Maint schedule reasonable $$$$ ?
I'm 6'2" 220..will I fit? I know I need to diet but...
and approximately what am i looking to pay for a "nicely" equiped c-class sports sedan? Always admired MB hopefully the car and driver can have a wonderful relationship!!
If anyone has "educated" opinions on the 3 models I am looking at, by all means let me know. I plan on harassing the dealers this weekend to get a better feel. Thanks in advance.
Off subject....Was in Germany on vacation 3-weeks ago and visiting the wife (Navy reserves) and drove the A180D as a rental...pretty awesome, roomy for my big butt even in the back seat...had it doing 160km...still was passed like I was standing still by the big boys!!!
Dollars to dollars, the new Passat is pretty awesome. Used to own a GLX VR6 (95).
A4 is too much money but great car & the Merc, well, I own one.
When I bought mine in 2004 they were still offerinf free servicing so my A & B service cost me nothing during the warranty period.
