2005 C240 FSS Service A reset

My wife's company car is a 2005 C240. Her company requires her to take it to Sears or PepBoys (not the Mercedes dealer) for an oil change. They changed the oil, but they didn't reset the Service A message. I have searched on here and looked in the manual and the instructions I have found do not work. Some have said you can't reset yourself for the 2005. Is this true? I have an computer laptop obd-2 tool. Can this be used to reset the Service A message? Thanks for any help.

Dealer told me they did it through the service window (service A in xxxxx miles/ xx days) and hit the reset button - even though i tried that several times...and nothing happened...

if you figure it out - let us know!

- why not take it to the dealer....????
you need the M-B spec oil - and it's only ~$50 at my dealer - at about the same cost as materials alone...?
-I like changing mine and checking on the chassis - suspension, etc...

first of all, bring it to the dealer for everything. and reseting the service ind, key to position 2, (all mils will turn on), scroll through the menu to your serv ind, hold down reset button, left side of cluster, after a few sec it will say do u want to reset, let off and press and hold for another few sec

If it's a company car it's not your problem if for example they use non-synthetic oil by mistake and MB voids the warranty.

I got that reset code procedure from a guy and it worked on my 2003 C240. If you want I'll give it to you to try on your '05.

tell us if there is something new....everything i read says that it does not work for '05 and up...
