Hey all, my sister received her new C350 4Matic and would like to do an aftermarket suspension. Searching around, I'm a little confused that 4matic's are out of the picture when it comes to coilovers.
Welcome to Benzworld. Nobody knows diddly about modifications, etc. I wish I could direct you to another place where there is more banter and enthusiasm. I bought my C32 a couple of months ago (after owning Audis for 15 years) and I'm shocked at how hard it is to find real car nuts with deep, inside info on MB. I know they're out there; it just seems like they are not aggregated at any particular forum. Heck, at Audiworld.com you could find tech articles on virtually any repair or maintenance or upgrade, and get instant input from people.
You might want to contact a local independent Benz shop and see what they know; or call one of the big coilover makers like H&R, Bilstein or KW and see what their plans are.
Watch what you say, There are plenty of knowledgable people on this forum. There are quite a few people that know about modifications and upgrades Me, Drew, Frank and Buellwinkle just to name a few.
On another note. It just that this forum is well, kinda dead. Go over to "m b k l a s s e . c o m", you be able to find answers to your questions and a far more knowledgable/technical crowd.
The quick answer to your question is that since the c350 is new and to complicate matters you have a 4matic, you are not likely to find any kit that will fit your needs. The 4 matic suspension is different than those of conventional w203s and since they make up a relatively small market, not many tuners have created a kit for your car.
I didn't mean to imply that knowledgeable folks weren't around -- just that I've had very little luck finding them. I guess it's because there is no single dominant site where everyone goes.
I saved thousands of dollars, and enjoyed my ownership experience much more, as a result of AudiWorld. When a bunch of people own the same car, and they communicate, it is amazing what you can learn. I can pretty much tell you all of the things that will break on an Audi A6 (C5), and in what order. It's a powerful group. I did a lot of subtle and not subtle upgrading to my A6, and I would not have even considered it without the handholding of other owners.
I'm glad to see your message. Maybe we need to try to round up enthusiasts into one place!
Well i got springs for my 2004 C320 4matic with help from Jerry at f o r m y m e r c e d e s .com . They are H&R's stright from Germany. I was not able to find squat in the US. Tire rack lists that they have some, i bought them and they didnt fit. the site i first saw them on was http://www.amb-tuning.de/produkte/fe.../c-klasse.html.
Im not sure how different the 2005 is. Hope that helps.

Hey man, I'm right there with ya. I own 2 Audi's and couldn't be happier. Unless you're buying an AMG, MB's just don't have it anymore. When the day comes that I turn 50, I'll think about getting one since they pretty much drive for you. Disconnected feel = bad. Been around MB's my whole life and am very disappointed with the feel of the newer ones.
That being said, there's nothing more comfortable and fun to drive on a long road trip than the SL55 :)
Thanks for the information, all. I'll follow the links accordingly.
