Nice pics. What maybe a good idea that shouldn't take too much additional time is to remove the MAF at the back end of that filter box and give it a good cleaning with CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner, specially the sensor wire.
Hey guys,
I'm looking forward to buy this K&N air filter ..
but it doesn't look like the one in the pictures ??!! 33-2193 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter
I have a C200 Kompressor 2001
so if there any guide can help me fix this one ??
I have the same K&N also and love it, I could not find a good deal on ebay so I found a discount coupon here: K&N 33-2193, or you can try one of the vendors on the forum here, you can usually find a good deal that way as well. This was very easy to install and I love it.
I would not recommend going with an oil impregnated airfilter. This sometimes let's oil go into the MAF Sensor filaments and kills the MAF. This happened to me on a naturally aspirated MB V6. When I replaced the MAF I went back to a stock airfilter. A supercharged engine will bring in more air volume making this risk even higher (same with cold air intake).
Just swapped out my dirty filter with a new one (no K&N) Took minutes. No zip tie cutting, just undid the hex bolts cleaned out the bottom of the air box, dropped in the new one than put it all back together.
The "Stealership" wants $115, I'd rather get the same thing for $25.95 and do it myself!
But I just want to know if I am buying the right filter for my 2005 C230 Kompressor Sedan with Sport Package...thanks
Hey guys.. my CEL came on twice and the OBD2 scanner says its code P0170 - isn't that a dirty air filter or the MAF sensor needs to be replaced? I am a 'girl' and not mechanically inclined. I know if I take it in to the repair shop I will get tagged financially.. what are my options? Car - 2004 C230 Kompressor with 50,000 miles. No major repairs but oil changes, new tires, new brakes.
I just bought another set of engine air filters for my W203 C320 4Matic from a_u_t_o_haus_z dot com and their prices went up. In March 2009, the price per set (a set is 2 filters - you need 2 filters) was $30.89. Today (Sept 2009), the price is $35.49 for the same filters.
Still not bad compared to $75 at the dealership and a_u_t_o_haus_z dot com does not charge any shipping for any orders > $50
The maintenance booklet says to replace the air filter every 52,000 miles or 4 years (every other B service,) and the dust/cabin air filter every 26,000 miles or 2 years (every B service.)
New here from Pasadena. Rusnak MB wants over $300 to replace the Air Filter. Seems wrong to me. Can someone share where to buy the air filter? This request and your DIT pics is the right price for me.
