2001 C320 Auto Climate Control

Hi all,

It looks like I will need your expertice and advice, once again.
If I understood the owners manual correctly, if you turn the economy "EC/REST" button on, the A/C should disengage and just fresh air should blow (no cooling).
Well, this is not exactly what my car is doing. I can't make the climate control to blow air WITHOUT getting cold air. Is there something I am missing?
I find it very hard to believe that I can't get the car blow just fresh air. I should be to get air blowing without having the A/C compressor activated.

I would love to know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Mariano

Thanks for your response.
The "EC/REST" light is on, I double checked it.
Even that I still get a/c cold air blowing.
Any other ideas/thoughts??

Thanks all

Mine does the same thing. Turn off the AUTO and the EC/REST, then turn the fan blower off, and wait about 5-10 seconds. Then turn the blower on to any speed, and hit the EC/REST button on as fast as you can. You should now have fan without AC compressor kicking in.

You can also try the following: Turn off AUTO, but leave the EC/REST on. Then turn off the fan blower. Wait 5-10 seconds, then turn the blower on to any speed. The AC/REST button should come back on automatically, and it should blow just air.

Let me know if it works for you!
