Maybe some of you experts can clear this one up for me. After doing some research I decided to look at the H&R cup kit for my new (ON the boat as we speak)C230 SSK.
I just called H&R to get the exact part number for the cup kit that fits my car. They tell me they only have sport springs for the sport sedans.
Now I have heard and seen numerous people with what I was told are an H&R cup kit on mercedes c230 sport sedans.
What is going on? And if someone says, "Just order part #XXXX it will fit" I have to ask why H&R doesn't offer it for the sport sedan in their fitment process?
I'm not following what you are saying. I think you are getting a 2005 C230k Sports Sedan. H&R says they have a cup kit for sports sedans. What's the problem?
I never cease to be amazed by the lack of product knowledge by employees of businesses. The part number is 31004-2. Go to this page: http://www.hr-spezialfedern.de/index.php Then click on the British flag in the upper right. When the English language page appears, place the mouse over "Products", then select "Cup-Kit-Sport-Suspension-Kit". On the next page, choose Mercedes under the "PRODUCT SEARCH". The proper part number is the one for the Mercedes Benz C230K.
Thanks for your help. I am very suprised the H&R person I spoke with was so set with telling me they do not have cup kits for sport sedans. And it is also quite strange that the http://www.hrsprings.com/site/index.html would not have a part listed for a MB sport sedan.
Thanks again for your help- Now a have to decide cup kit or coil overs w/ 19's.
Let us know how it all works out for you. That's exactly what I'm thinking about (19's and a cup kit). I just don't necessarily care for the rear tires to be tucked under the rear fenders, though. I'm wondering if the cup kit will drop it too much or juuuust right...
i once wanted to get the cup kit, actually i got it and it was on back order. waited for about a month then i decided to get g35 coupe so i got the g35 and cancelled the order, but let me know how the ride is. i'm thinking of getting the cup kit again. thanks
How are you liking the G? I seriously considered it as well, but rear doors ended up being the more practical choice with a 4 and 5 yr old. Our next ride will definitely be just a fun car, though.
the G is really nice and fun to drive. the car is fast and everything inside is nice too, but compared to the benz, the benz is alot nicer. if you like loud cars the G is perfect because the G's stock exhaust is loud already and no other cars has that sound except the 350z. it a really nice car, just got the areo kit for it, look nice.
I agree primm, my goal is to try and fill the wheel well 100% (not tuck) by bringing the wheel and tire out to be just about even with fender all the way around. Going 8.5 front and 9.5 rears.
I spoke with Mike at * (SOCAL Shop) just trying to get some prices for the cup kit and he said coil overs would give a better ride??? So I do not know if my mind is made up on the cup kit or coil overs.
