sup folks! can anyone tell me what is the
stock revv limit on a 96 c280?? the tach says
6500rpm? but seems weird how the engine cuts @
5500rpm?? anyone with same problem?? I have changed the fuel filter to a c43 one. replaced plugs....still chuggz @5500rpm!
do u have any idea what might cause it to
cut at 5500rpm?
also yours goes up to 6000rpm does it shift
smoothly right at that point? or do u have to ease on the pedal a little?

You have a in-line 6 C280 w/ a 4 spd auto, not a 5spd auto V-6.

So the redline, and transmission are different.
However, your car should still be shifting at 6400 with out much abruptness.
ya inline 6 w/4 auto. im thinking now it might be
the o2 sensor or clogged cat. do u know if there is any fuel/air adjustment screw on the throttle side like the old bmw's or mercedes??
I have a 99 5 speed auto c280 and redline is 6,000 rpm but in manuel mode it gets to 6250 rpm although i dont know if thats stock as well? I found out after i got a ecu tune I drove it in manuel mode and noticed it goes a bit above 6,000 rpm but in regular Automatic mode it only shifts at 6,000 rpm
