That is such a cheap way to upgrade the value of a S-Class. If its a S500 its a S500 AND it is not an AMG. If it is a AMG it would of been a S55, which from your descriptions, it is not. 
 
It's sort of like those people who guy Acura Integra GSR's and can not afford a Type-R but throws on a Type-R badge so they can make everyone think they own something more expensive. 
 
BTW, it's more than a 20K difference from a S500 versus a S55. 
 
I've also seen dumb things such as C28 AMG... no such things. Idiots giving Mercedes-Benz a bad rep.

I think what B3 meant was the guy had the AMG version of the S-class, but he didn't know what it was called. For all intensive purposes, he called it the S500 AMG because he wasn't sure it was called a S55. 
 
I know what you mean though....I've seen a ///M328is and C320 AMGs on the road. Pathetic, it insults C32 owners.
