Question about shocks

I have been seriously considering buying some H&R springs to slightly lower my C43. However, I was wondering if anything needed to be done to the shocks.
I like the Bilstein that come on my car, but it seems to me that as ride height is lowered, the shocks would be under more compression and have less travel (Towards the ground).
Does anything need to be done with the shocks, or do new ones have to be bought?

Well, eventually, you would need to change as the shocks will bottom out..

but, in my experience, this will be after 10k miles or so as the stock shocks works really well. Bilstein has a reputation of never sagging so I doubt that you would need to change ever. Post pics when you have it done !

Thanks.

Is there anything else involved in changing the springs, or is it a simple switch-out?

You need a spring compressor to take it out...

Also on top of each spring is a shim (pad) which can also be changed if you want the car lower. It comes in 4 or 5 sizes, 1 pt being the lowest. These can be bought from the dealer for about $3-$5 each.
