Question w202 c220 key broken off in ignition lock

I have read the threads on other mercedes lock removel and was wondering if someone knew the best way to remove the lock out of a 1995 C220 with the key broken off in the lock. I have not been able to remove the key it is to deep in the lock. I have the bottom half of the dash removed the instrument cluster loose and ready to be pulled out as soon as I pull the steering wheel off. W202

Smile 95 mercedes tumbler

What have you done to try to get the key to rotate the tumbler.

I can help you. if you can get the tumbler in to the 1 position it will save you about $200.00

If you do what I have done it will cost you about $300.00 in parts. (NEW)
Less if you find used parts.

Post c220 ignition key won't turn at all, to start car

Redmanrh;
The car is on level ground, in driveway.
Parked the car and the next day the key will not turn at all.
Doors unlock to get in car
Tried many things to free up the key, incl
-turning the steering wheel
-spray "wd40" lubricant in tumbler
Key does not move to any position.
I have just bought a used ig lock housing, w/ key ( $93) to replace the whole unit. I'm now searching for r/r instructions

thanks

I have never done this, but there were some having talk about putting a vibrating sander or another vibrating device on the key and trying to turn the key..????????

To do what I have done you are going to need some tools.
Torx socket set (two needed I will get the sizes)
Torx screw driver set (one size needed)
DASHBOARD SERVICE KIT or INSTRUMENT CLUSTER RADIO IGNITION PULL TOOL (same thing different name) found on eBay.
Ignition Lock Collar Tumbler Removal Tool. Found on eBay
10 mm Allen wrench.
Die grinder (I used air grinder).
About 10 to 12 medium to small pointed grinding stones.
13 mm open box end wrench
Small and medium Philips screw driver
I will be posting more information for you when I collect it.
