2000 C280 Sport Battery keeps dying

I have a 2000 C280 Sport and the battery keeps dying if I turn off the car. I have had the battery replaced three times with brand new batterys but the mechanic I talked to said there is a short in the instrument cluster or something I dont know. There is a short in the odometer or something and he wants $1600 dollars to fix it. Also my instrument cluster is messed up as all the digits are disappearing. Should I get a new instrument cluster ? or just fix the short? also my A/C stopped working. Thank god winter is coming up hopefully the heat works.

You could get a second opinion from an auto-electrician (Mercedes knowledgeable), but other than that, you don't seen to have many other options?

I Come Across This Problem ...
It Happened during The Engine ACCELERATION ... !!

It Happened to W202 C220 M111 HFM system
and W210 E200 M111 HFM system

It Was Due To The Faulty
Ignition High Tension Cable ...
or
the Spark Plug cable ....

Engine Misfiring ...
cause the odometer display Blank ...
and A/C system To Cut OFF ...
(automatic digital display)
