I want to change my trans fluid on my 11/95 C220 but i dont know what fuid to use. I called the dealer and they told me just use regular Dexron III trans fluid. I called a local shop and they told me only use Mercedes Benz fluid that cost $9.00 each. Then i called another shop and they told me that only 97s with electronic trans uses the Merceds Benz fluid. And the 95s uses regular trans fluid. I check the dip stick and the fluid is clear not red like the Dexron III. Pls help. Thanks.

I think newer MB's use MB trans. fluid. Yours should use DEXRONIII. I use Mobil 1 (synthetic) tranny fluid with great results on my '94 C280. It should work for you as well.

Actually, the MB fluid is used in 1997 and later C-class (and start at different years for different models).
Your transmission should be fine with Dexron III, however it really doesn't hurt to look at your OWNER'S MANUAL to see what it says.
