I have turbocharged C280 more

If the set-up was done properly you shouldn't be worried on any potential problems besides lower gas mileage.
Mine on the other hand was a pain in the ass. When they first they installed mine (November last year), they forgot to install the thicker head gasket. When I took it out for a test drive, white smoke came out of the engine. I was in shock for the most part. Ofcourse, they agreed to fix/replace any damage done to the car. When I finally got the car, woah, was it a blast!!
The problems I encountered or what you might encounter should be simple adjustment problems. I had to add extra injectors since I was running too lean. Also bought a EBC so I could easily set the pressure (I used to have an MBC and it was a pain to get the right settings). I am currently set at 12 psi.
If you have any ?'s, just post and I'll try to answer them.
Richard
: i was wondering if anyone has a turbo c-class out there. i just had mine turbocharged about 2 weeks ago and i was wondering if anyone who has one has run into any problems.

wow cool to know there is someone else out there. so who/where did your turbo system? where are you from? i am wondering whats in your setup? (turbo, wastegate, intercooler, etc.) do you have a fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump also? one more ques... where did you get a metal head gasket??? right now i am set at 9 lbs but i am scared to go any further because i dont have a fuel pump (i plan on installing an bosch in-line fuel pump). my car starts to detonate at around 9 lbs. anyways... hope to hear your reply soon.
andy
Re: I have turbocharged C280 more

Sorry for the late reply. Was off on vacation. :) I'm from New Jersey. East Coast Performance in Union City did my set-up.
Okay here's what I have :
Mitsubishi TD???? with Internal Wastegate
Custom air-filter system
Custom air/water intercooler.
Custom stainless manifold
Remapped Computer
Added high-flow injectors
I'm not sure if the gasket was metal but I got it from them as well. I don't have an extra fuel pump just upgraded injectors. You shouldn't have detonation problems if the compression ratio is correct. Another thing you could do is retard the timing to have more boost at lower RPMs.
Richard S.

: wow cool to know there is someone else out there. so who/where did your turbo system? where are you from? i am wondering whats in your setup? how much did it set you back RIchard?

Hello Richard. Your turbo setup sounds sweet. How much did you spend on the whole thing? Is East Coast Performance a reliable shop? Let me know what you think. Thanks. What car is yours? C280? Thanks.
justin
Andy: side skirts

Hi Andy. Nice pics you got there. Did you have to drill holes under the car for your side skirts? Or did you just use 3M tape used to put them on? Thank you.
justin
