Hello,

Periodically my cars trans would just spin when in gear. It would quickly re-engage and would be fine for weeks. I took the car to a trans shop and their test showed that the conductor plate and wire harness needed to be replaced. The quoted $1600. I did a bit of researched and saw that the part was $80 - $200 online. My question is I'm pretty handy with a wrench and want to replace the part myself. Are there any concerns I need to worry about and is there any guides online on the replacement steps???

Thanks,
T

Plenty of write ups here and at other sites.

Definitely doable. I did this on my son's 2000 C230K and have done the plug on a couple of others.

I have average skills but maybe a little bit better toolbox than your average DIYer and this makes it a bit easier.

The key concern would be to keep everything CLEAN.
