Hey all. I've been doing a lot of reading over the last few days about my symptoms and it seems the general consensus is a vacuum leak. I have a 1994 C220 with only 189000km on the clock. It's an awesome car other than this issue. It hard upshifts mostly between 1-2. 2-3 shift is a little harsh but not too bad. My 1-2 shift is only around 2000rpm but my 2-3 is around 3000rpm. I wasn't sure about adjusting the Bowden cable since the 2-3 shift seems to me where it should be.
At idle, while in gear it is quite rough and vibrates the car(around 600rpm). If I 2 foot the gas and brake to get the rpm up by 100rpm(700rpm), it smooths out. I checked for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold with carb cleaner and couldn't find anything suspicious there. I would almost bet a paycheck that it's vacuum related but I just don't know where more to check.
I have yet to do a transmission service on it, the previous owner did it approx. 1 year ago but that will probably be my weekend project this weekend.
Any advice anybody can give would be greatly appreciated
