Ok so I have no air out if center vents. Stuck on side and defrost. Air blows cold. Doesn't changed based on rpms.
I have 287k miles on my car.
I've read where someone said that you can move a belo beneath the glove box. I've taken the cover off the underside of the glove box but don't know what the belows are. I'm not going to take it to a shop and fix it properly bc in just using the car to go back and forth to work. All of 5 miles each way but would love cold air from center vents.
On mine (265,000 miles in the heat) it was the connection between the dial between the two vents and the blade inside had broken and it was closed. It will still close it, but not open it. It was a hot ass day too. I was able to see it was closed looking in with a flash light. I was able to open it back up by sticking a pencil in and opening it back up. Sorry I cant give a better description.
It isn't the Open/close vent selector broken. I can look inside and see it open and close when I move it. Air physically isn't getting sent to the duct.
It IS the bellows then, also called the vacuum actuator or vacuum element. I think all you air is going to the windshield because it has a hole in it and won't inflate/ deflate. This will require dashboard removal.
Mine was caused because the vaccum connect cracked and broke off, and caused a vaccum leak. Look at the vaccum distributor located in front of the fuse box in the engine bay.
