And how did you check the fluid level?

5. You're just to dumb to own a Mercedes, and should go buy a Honda.

I would say its time for a new trans.

But if its full and it has no engagement at all, there is something major wrong. Even without electrical control the trans will still go into gears, and move.

yeah you can tell when you put it in gear , the rpms drop slightly , but the car will not move in any gears , so are you saying there are several parts internally damaged

It could be anything from a bad torque converter to sticking valves in the trans, any number of thing could have gone wrong.

For all the money you would spend, you could have had a new trans installed.

I have the same car. Same trans.

I had that problem in Drive and it was the clutch that needed to be replaced. It could also be a lot of other problems. Save yourself the trouble and replace the transmission with a rebuilt one.

If you are in the USA you can get a completely rebuilt transmission with waranty here:

Silver Star Transmission - Mercedes-Benz, Dodge Sprinter

I spoke to them when I had my transmission rebuilt last time and they were recommended on the forum someone. I didn't not end up sourcing it from them as I had it rebuilt locally but that was a mistake and I would get it from them next time.
