ok so I'm trying to fit LED lights on my third brake light you know the one that burns contently I wired everything and it all worked, when I press the brake pedal the LEDs turn on, but my warning light on the dashboard is also on the one that tells you that there is a burned light. the LEDs were 12v and they came with resisters installed, how can I fool the warning light?
Did you use the existing circuit for the LEDs? If not, thats the problem. Otherwise, its probably since the LEDs use less power so perhaps the circuit is set to read it at a certain value and since it would be below that value it would trigger it.
Im not sure you can exactly "fool" it. I think if your tired of looking at that light, either put the stock light back in or remove that bulb from the cluster.
I removed my bulb from the cluster only becuz as of now I have a circuit problem with my side lights, once that gets fixed I will put the bulb back in. Otherwise it would be on all the time, and I hate warning lights.
Most likely the problem is, that the LEDs are not pulling enough power and its triggering the light. Im not sure how you would make them draw more current other than add another resistor but that might damage them.
I hate warning lights too that is why I'm trying to fix it, I can't put the old bulb on because it burned with the bulb holder. you mentioned that if I put e resistor the warning light might turn off how would I do that, and where would I put the resistor. the LEDs say in the box they are 12V
