Performance upgrades for C230 Kompressor??

What are some performance upgrades for a C230 Kompressor?

I was thinking about an air intake and chip... what else do you guys think?

If maybe 5% is OK, than try it. Filter won't do anything, except at 7000 rpm. Chip might do something, if you don't mind going higher in the rev range.

You might try shifting manually, but everything has a cost.

You might want to start looking for another car that has more power to begin with.

what kind of boost do these handle stock? are the stock internals forged?
I already have a standalone EFI in my car and thought it wouldnt be difficult to drop one of these in and put on a serious overdrive pulley to jump the boost to ~15-18psi. but I just wonder about the availability of parts and engines..

1985 190e 2.3 :: EFI, suspension work, 16v bits, rebuilding the 2.0L block, turbo eventually
1986 190e 2.3-16 :: Bought in a sad state, being refreshed and rebuilt for the track

Upgrade the crankshaft pulley that drives the supercharger belt. Do a search here. You will have to find a used Kleeman one or one from the place down near Houston, TX. I forget the name. They got wiped out during the last big hurricane but I think they are back in business. Do a search here and you will find the name though.

>>$750!?<<

Welcome to the world of Mercedes where the star means everything costs more just because it is a Mercedes.

For the money, the performance gain is better than other options compared to chip tuning, headers (real headers, not the ebay crap), etc. You do get a full kit and not just the pulley. If I remember right, I think they used to charge separately for each item so the price has actually come down:

"Harmonic Dampner and Blower Overdrive Crank Pulley, MA relocation pipe, spark plugs fuel pressure regulator, belt"

From what others have written, it is a stock pulley with a ring welded to it to increase the circumference. That is kind of disappointing but apparently the much more expensive Kleeman kit did the same thing. I guess if they really do a good job of balancing it, it should be OK. Some of the gearheads who have torn into the M111.975 to tune them and increase the boost say the engine is robustly built and that they should be able to handle the increased boost pretty well.
