Well long story short I was at the bar last night and took my keys out of my pocket for a second and placed them on the table. I was surrounded by about 10 co-workers whom I trust. It turns out one of them grabbed the keys and brought them outside with them.
I currently have no idea where the keys are and there is no spare.
I need to get the car towed to my place as soon as possible. How would I go about doing this? The car is stuck in park.
I also need to purchase a spare key. About how long does it take to recieve one?
Take your title and license to the nearest MB dealership and they will have your new key ready by first FedEx delivery tomorrow morning. Just did this. Cost me $28.00 - order before 5 o'clock pm and it is seriously there the next day.
The electronic key will be between $180 and $220. Bring proof of ownership with your VIN # to the dealer. (I'd shop around by phone). The keys come from Texas and do not need to be programmd by the dealer.
Maybe it's because I have an older MB. But how do the tow truck guys tow an MB if it is parked illegally, etc. They surely do not disengage the drive shaft.
You can either pick it up from the rear, front should roll, disconnect drive shaft(typical for a hook style tow truck; should never tow with drive shaft in anyway) or just drag it up onto a flat bed with the wench, which is the easiest way.
Call a tow company, explain your situation so they come prepared. Lift it and put the back on a dolly, as stated above the front wheels should be free or risk dragging it on and off a flatbed. Can it stay where it is? Hope you ordered your key already.
I've finally gotten a tow company willing to tow it without an ID(locked in car) or keys. They are going to tow it on dollies.
It cannot stay where it is because someone has the key to it and I would rather it be in my driveway.
Now I'm working on trying to find the lowest cost for another key.
I am going to order one as soon as the car is in the driveway. Until the keys come I have another car I will just have to drive. Unfortunately though my wallet is inside of that car.
Is there any way to get the car unlocked without the keys?
Well, you could try a slim-jim, you just have to find one. I've got into cars with a large flat screwdriver and a hanger. If you have AAA they have a locksmith service.
Three years ago when I bought my C280, they only gave me one key and the remote stopped working after a week.
I bought two keys, one was the remote for about $180, and I bought a regular key for about $35. It doesn't have a full size head, but the key is normal thickness.
You might want try the $35 route, and maybe the remote key will turn up.
Did someone take your key because you had too much to drink?

Hey guys thanks for all of the responses. I was not drinking at the bar, I was hanging out with co-workers and waiting for my two drinks beforehand to go away before driving.
Turns out one of my co-workers moved them outside. Then another put them in her purse for some reason.
Luckily the towing company got slammed with Police dispatches and wasn't able to make it to the car in time. So I was able to cancel the towing and go pick up the keys.
The little key does everything, as it has a chip. The infrared only does the door locks, and whatever else. I have used the key open and start the car.
This is for a '97 C280 with the single button infrared. If things changed in '98, I wouldn't know.
