Alright, so both my front seat have dead elements in the bottom of the seat.. Has anyone ever attempted to fix these? Are they stitched into the seat? Anyone have any ideas? Its starting to get get cold here and it really sucks only having the back working..

I have read about people taking the seat and covering apart and repairing the wire grid. People wrote that it was pretty easy to spot the bad point because there was a dark area on the material near the bad point in the wire.

These are probably the weakest link in MBs. I've had the vertical element in the driver's side fail twice. If I lived in a colder climate I'd have already replaced it with an aftermarket, and the ones I researched are carbon mesh so they don't ever fail (if it cracks just a little area stops heating). You can splice them in to your connector and use the existing switch, etc. If you're interested in them the company is heatedseatkits.com and if you have questions they get back to you pretty quickly.
