How to replace radio antenna

How to replace radio antenna? The one placed left of the boot lid. Couldn't find any mention of this in Haynes. And, where to buy online, Europe preferably...?

Anyone?

I found some antennas on ebay, but do I really need the whole thing when it's just broken off on the tip? Maybe I will need it, because I suppose the antenna is meant to go up and down when starting the engine and turning it off?

This any good? Power Antenna Kit Mercedes W140 W126 W201 W113 W202:eBay Motors (item 140360753756 end time Dec-17-09 18:38:23 PST)

Here check this thread out.

You don't need the whole thing with the motor unless the motor is also broken.
Here's an antenna MERCEDES BENZ POWER ANTENNA MAST C230 C280 W202 SL320:eBay Motors (item 290317436370 end time Dec-10-09 18:54:34 PST)
and another 94-98 MERCEDES W202 C230 C280 OEM POWER ANTENNA MAST 95:eBay Motors (item 250493587174 end time Dec-03-09 22:18:03 PST)
I don't know if the one you posted is good. Good luck.

Thanks, that helps alot. But instead of dissecting the whole antenna and motor in the trunk just to find out if the motor need replacing, isn't there a better way to easily check if the enigne is dead? Because the state of the whole radio antenna deal right now is that the tip is broken off and it doesn't move up or down when I start the engine/ shut off. I think this smells of motor-replacement.. no? And that guide should be sufficient for doing it myself a saturday morning

Yeah it sounds like your mast motor is dead. You can try the one from ebay if you'd like and tell us if it's good otherwise get an oem new or used. Good luck and I hope I helped.

Yup you did help, I basically figured out that I might as well just go for the whole package, so right before our morning meeting here at work - I logged on to eBay and got this:

Not OEM but hopefully it works. There was one other buyer who'd left a feedback on the same seller with this exact product and said it worked fine.

edit: I only found this OEM, but it was $69 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-00...item27ad056154

are you sure that ur motor is broken? does it make any noise when you turn the car on? maybe the broken tip is getting the motor stuck?

DO NOT BUY THIS! I got one and it's not for the w202, not the same size as the one in the car, and basically none of the parts fit at all. (I sunk $50 into trying to repair my antenna a while ago and finally gave up).
