hmm, did you try forcing it past the threads? i cant see it getting stuck down in the tube but maybe it will. if it were me, i would try to get it past the threads and if it still gets stuck, then try forcing it back out to maybe sand off some of the metal. im not too sure what to tell you, i dont really remember having problems with mine except for getting the motor to work because it wasnt hooked up to my radio. i had an aftermarket head unit and had to wire that up to operate my antenna.
the antenna that was on my car was broken when i bought it. the previous owner drove it through a car wash with it up haha. i just recently fixed it after 2 years anyways, i had to remove some of the broken metal out of it too so i removed the entire unit and put my antenna in that way, i was not trying to stick it down through the outside of the car.
