Friend is looking at a '94 C280..... - Benzworld.org

What are your recommendations? Reliable cars? Any bugs that didn't get worked out in the 1st year? They're asking $3800, and that seems a bit low to me for a Benz, but maybe I'm just used to the astronomical S Class pricing.

Anyways, all help is welcome and thanks in advance!

Wiring harness. Head gasket. This is at the age where lots of things start to go wrong if they haven't already been replaced (e.g. control arm bushings, vacuum system tubing, etc.). It could be a good car but you just need to know the risks and have it thoroughly inspected by an EXPERIENCED MB mechanic.

Plus one on the recommendation for a PPI by a good MB mechanic.

How are the maintenance records? Complete? Sketchy?

If this is up in your neck of the woods, rust/corrosion would be something else to look out for.
