Nothing But Problems with 2000 C230 Kompressor - Need Advice!

I bought a used 2000 C230 Kompressor ~last April.

I bought it at 110,000KM, I've put on ~13,000KM.

Problems:

- My Clutch Fan Blew when I was out of Town...
- Front Coil Springs Rusted out
- Windshield Wiper Engine Died (Blade got Stuck)
- Check Engine Light ALWAYS on yet dealer says nothing is wrong.

Now latest ... 2 weeks after I replace $400 wiper engine ... Windshield Wiper Transmission is gone! That's a $700 part supposedly and hard to find.

I LOVE the car but am starting to HATE it. I had a BMW that I loved it got written off and thought I'd be careful with this.

Have I gone through the worst of it? Am I having bad luck or is this normal? Anyone who is further down the road I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Should I keep it or ditch it while the going is good. I love my ride but a guy in his 20's didn't amass enough to buy one comfortably by just throwing his money away. Time to or keep going?

to anyone who takes the time to help a brotha out!

P.S Know where I can source a cheap Wiper Transmission in Canada? (Ontario)?

First off dont replace the transmission just yet. If you feel you can take the thing off then I would suggest that and relube the shock in the center of the transmission, that is usually what gets bound up. The fan and springs sound like normal wear items depending on the weather where you are from. For the MIL could you post what the codes are so we might be able to help?

what do you mean by MIL codes?

Also the dealer who just serviced it did take it apart and lubed it all up. He just said that I *WILL* need a new one probably sooner then later.

We're having one heck of a winter. Almost record snowfall... I see you are in Augusta... Ahhh the Masters!

Yes its a mess getting everything ready right now since Mercedes is sponsoring the Masters this year we are prepping around 400 cars. Yea if he lubed it up and its working now, then you can pretty much count on next time it stops needing the transmission . MIL is the Malfunction Indicator Lamp or your check engine light.

Not to sound totally ignorant but where would I find my MIL codes? It's just the light is on.

Curious how long one typically lasts with "average" use once it's been re-lubed?

Your wiper transmission problem is what caused the motor to burn out, put some grease on it and it's ok.

No grease=bad gliding of the piston, which holds the motor back so the motor draws more power until it burns out.

Where do you add the grease? Where the heck is the transmission for a windshield wiper? lol

You can save HUGE BUNDLES OF MONEY if you do a lot of this work yourself.
Spend time on this Forum and get educated on what you can DIY.
I have zero reported problems with my C230K. Thank You God.

110,000KM? Your about to start replacing a lot of nickle and dime stuff.
Yes even in a BMW.
