Last week I was traveled back home, the temperature is 110F, just drove about 20miles and my engine blown with fire underneath my car. I can figure out what the problem could be. I have a CEL for a long time, I took it to the mechanic and he said it is okay.. the code is kinda 0111 I don't quiet remember. The engine oil has changed for awhile but it still about 1.5K. Water coolant is okay, and at the time my engine blown, I was driving very gentle.. the RPM was below 3K, the engine temperature was normal...
Now I have no idea, I am waiting for the comment of my mechanic, he said it might end up change the engine.
P.S. Before I that day, I use Wurth Throttle Body cleaner, and I clean it and the mass air flow sensor. The result gained, the engine response better.
Poll: If I have chance, should/could I use the same engine or the 180 or 200 because the gas is so damn expensive (USD1.175 per litter, in Cambodia)
OMG! Really sorry to hear that, but this is my first time hearing a real fire coming out from W202. Anyways, the car wasn't damaged but just the engine? I would have thought a fire would destroy or melt everything.
It's been a week and the my mechanic is kinda busy, and didn't check what has damaged yet. I doubt only the engine was blown, the engine oil leaked, and some component inside cracked... The electronic things was okay so far. Anyway I hope to get my new engine soon. Thanks for your concern.
