I have about a week until the title clears and I will own my third Benz. It's a polar white, '97 C280 sport. It goes without saying I'm excited to be back in a benz considering I have been driving an Olds-mobile eighty-eight since I crashed my 190 in October '07.
The C280 has 151,111mi on the clock and needs a few things before its official.
Drivers side mirror, the motor works but the glass is worn and does not move, dealership?
Right side windshield sprayer is missing. This results in a high-pressure flow of washer fluid straight up in the air. Where can I find this part?
The car is also ready for an oil change, any reccomendations? I live in upstate Ny, I'm thinking 10-40 synthetic blend?
Finally its due for a set of tires, whats on your c class? How do you like them?
***also, are any other common problems with highmileage 97 280's I should be aware of?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

The transmissions in 97's were known to have issues since it was the 1st year of the 5spd electronic control.
The tires on my car are Yoko Avid A4's and I like them... good grip... good in snow

Hey guys. I have '98 NB C280/Sport I want to change my oil and possibly flush the engine from deposit build up and so on. What kind of flush treatment do I need to used before I add new oil in to my baby. The engine is on 81,500K. What do you recommend to use for oil Fully senthetic Mobil1 5-30 or10-30?? Please let me know Thank you
Your car hass FSS (Flexible Service Schedule) so an extended change interval oil is needed... I use what the factory put in... Mobil1 0-40 full synthetic... and I ride out the entire period of the FSS... still at 72k miles no leaks no burning of oil... I have 1700 miles left on the FSS and have used no oil in the past 9300 or so miles.
You should stay away from putting anything into your oil. Just do your regular oil changes 7K on full synthetic (anything over it is pushing it) and be happy.
