OVP or MAF or ?

Thinking about getting rid of my W202 C200 Classic, endless grief at the moment.

My problems started when I removed the battery (June 07), I think I may have done something like short it out since after that the car wouldnt run properly at all.

Took it to my local MB mechanic, computer showed no codes, eventually he changed the MAF sensor and the car roared to life and drove fine. Immediately thereafter the car begin to cut out and idle badly when hot, started fine and ran fine when cold.

Took it back (Oct 07) and the computer now showed O2 sensor, which he cleared and it didnt come back.

Now in Feb 08 car is still not right, took it back again and he changed the MAF with a new one (under guarantee ) but the problem is the same and I actually think the car is worse now.

Reading the forums I now wonder if its not an OVP type problem, since it started with me shorting out the battery. I see that some forums say the at the later (Oct 1999) C200's dont have OVPs and I certainly dont see one in the ECU box.

Does anyone know what this could be or where the OVP is on my car. I would really appreciate the help, getting me very stressed and I really used to enjoy driving my car!
