I have a 98' C230 and have just ordered new headlights off of eBay. The owners manual says that I am suppossed to use H7 55W bulbs, which is the same as I have ordered. What I was wondering was if anyone knows if I would be able to use H7 100W bulbs? Would it damage anything, and if not what difference would it be from the H7 55W. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will actually damage quite a bit... you will not only melt the reflectors in the new lamp unit... but you will burn/melt the wiring harness in your car... there are ways of doing this... but you will still melt the light unit.

Best bet is to try and get some Philips X-Treme Power bulbs (only avail in europe from what I can tell)... or get some Sylvania Xtra Visions... they are the same as the european Silver Stars... they all run at 55w and will not damage anything.
