CD Changer on my C230

Hi all,
I posted this here because this is more of a general CD Changer question. I've got a 1998 C230. There is not presently a CD Changer in the trunk; I believe I found the wiring for it in the trunk on the passenger side next to the battery. There is just the one plug I found with 7 or 8 wires going into one plug. The driver's side has what appears to be all phone related wiring. Is this the correct location for the CD Changer for this model and year. I had read that some changers were located in the glove box.
I have searched the site already but could not find a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

You did find the plug for the changer... it is mounted in that well between the trunk floor and the side of the car.

Ahhh...well I'm glad I found the right one. It was actually still zip tied with a bunch of other wires leading to the battery. I've since pulled it out and laid it in that well in anticipation of a changer soon. I was hoping that I still needed to look further as I got one off ebay but it has two smaller connectors. Guess I'll be re-listing that one...

Thanks for your help!

Post the model number. You may have gotten a fiber optic one for 99 and later models.

There's a couple numbers on it....
This is the first one above the model number: A 220 827 46 42

Model number: MC 3330

So I take it the '98 does not use the fiber optic design? If this model is not fiber optic...is there any plug adapters etc that I could get to make this work with my '98. I did a little bit of research and I believe this is for a '05 model. I wish i had done a little research before I bought it! Doh! I would obviously love to be able to use this one if at all possible.

Thanks again,

nope not in the glove box, I have the same car you do, and mine is located on the right side of the trunk, it's an Alpine 6 disc.
