I had to replace my harness on my 95 c220 with 110K.
Wanted to fix it first, but i am happy i bought new one, since the insulation was missing way deep into some connectors like MAF and others.
I got a discount at the MB Dealer and paid $520.
The job was fairly easy, but you need to raise the car, since you need access from underneath.
The new harness is made in spain by delco.
Now the car runs like a champ again, for another 14 years, i hope.
any one looking for engine wiring harness for a 1995 C280 Mercedes part # 202 440 7905 for $400. It was taking off by a certified Mercedes Tech at 88,000 miles. If interested please email me at boogienites2277@yahoo.com
I think i'm having the same problem, the car stalls alot, it takes a while to shift gears (automatic). but it doesn't smoke no engine light comes on, although i'm having issue w/electrical. i was told it could be the Crank Position Sensor. i don't know i had this problem for a while. that is why i don't go far with it. i have a 1995 MB C-280. can someone tell me which problem could be? i appreciate your suggestions.
I bought a new harness for my 1994 c280.I mad now because its probably not the right one for my car.Everything is the same except 2 wires that appear to run from the starter solenoid up to the wire bundle that plugs in near the very front of the drivers side.Im trying to figure out if i can run those wires in somewhere else. The new harness has those 2 wires already in it but they run to the large jack that plugs into the ecu.A large lavendar or purple if u will and a smaller brown and black wire.if anyone knows what those two wires do i would really appreciate some input.
Rexall
Yes, I use STRICTLY Automotive grade wiring,(resistant to oil/gas/high temparatures) - and a warranty would be no problem, i offer a lifetime warranty on all of my work...Thats why i wont use those crimp connectors- they can and WILL go bad. I exclusively SOLDER everything. If anyone needs this service, just remove your harness from the engine compartment and PM me for an address....
how bout i fly you down both way so i can watch you do it your # an ill call u kordell
Anyone interested in a harness re-build service? I have been doing automotive electrical for the last 16 years, and I am a 1st class certified MECP technician.
I have all the supplies to do this, and i ONLY use solder and heat shrink tubing, NO CRIMP CONNECTORS!!!
Would $300 per harness and about a week turn-around time be decent?
What do you guys think, im just trying to help....
Heck yes!!!! I got a 1995 c280 thats needs the harness rebuilt...if you can do for $300....then lets do this
Is a 2000 c280 harness ok? I am looking to buy one with harness issues already. What I am really wondering is, If I remove the harness to repair one part of it, will I cause several more problem areas by simply handling it to repair it? Is the insulation on this harness weak like the 94-97 model? Thanks
