my windshield wiper is going off randomly. I figured out if i hold the knob that controls the wiper all the way to the right it does not go off. But, it still goes off randomly if i just leave it alone in the off position. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

When you say it "goes off", you mean that it turns on, right? Or are you saying that when it's running, it will stop intermittantly?

Yes it turns on when there is no rain and the knob is turned to the off position.

What year is your car?

I'm not aware of an automatic rain sensing system available on the C Class, but if there is one then I'd start by replacing the sensor.

1997 c230, i dont believe there is an automatic rain sensor. It has never gone off, while in the off position before, even when it is raining. maybe my switch is just messed up. because if i manually hold it in the far right (off position) the wiper does not randomly turn on.
