G'day,
New to Benzworld but not the mark,Can you help my 1994 C220 suffers from pre ignition pretty badly I am running correct fuel rating,I suspect ignition timing fault.Can anyone advise me how to check and adjust this if necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You cannot normally adjust the ignition timing for these engines as it is controlled by the Ecu and varied by the information fed from the engine sensors. Are you using the correct spark plugs as if they are running too hot they will cause pre-ignition .
I have just ordered a new set of plugs,I will fit them and let you know how it goes,it has had its pre ignition for a while now I just put up with it as the wife had been using it more than me,now I find myself back in the merc again a lot more so I had better do something about it!!!!
