Mine is 1994 MB C220 with 115000 miles on it
today i went to autozone for code check...it came with 5 codes now
code
P1700 -- manufacturer code
P0133 -- O2 sensor
P0116 -- Engine Coolant temperature sensor
P0411 -- Secondary air injection incorrect flow
P0600 -- Serial communication link
It was a dramatic --- first i went to advance auto parts where there were detected first 4 above mentioned codes--then for confirmation i went to autozone where all 5 codes were diagnosed-- then when i was driving the car 'Engine Check Light' went off...so i again went to Advance auto part and checked--but this time there was no fault detected-- i did same repeatedly and still no fault was there....Then again i went to home and i started car after 1 hour and engine light popped up again....
what should i do?
student, Im no expert, but it sounds like it could be the dreaded engine harness problem....luckily for me , i have been doing automotive wiring for the last 16 years, so im just WAITING for my harness to die, lol
I may offer a harness re-build service as well. Would anyone be interested in this, and what would a "fair" price be as opposed to a new harness?
you could ship me your harness, i could repair it and mail it back for x amount of dollars..
You replaced 3 ignition coils for $800? Man, who did it? I just replaced all three of mine for $145 and about 30 mins of work.
I just bought a 1997 C280 and it has the same stutter and then backfire at accelleration at low RPM's.
I am going to try replacing the ignition coils myself. On scale of 1-10 how would you rate the difficulty? The last car that I worked regularly on was my '84 5.0 Mustang 15 years ago. If I could do it then should I have any problem replacing these coils?
hey i was wonderin if you could help me out ...
i have a mercedes w202 c180 elegance and i was wondering wat i could do to make my car faster as it is exxtremely slow of the mark....
feel free to send a private back il be waiting on your reply if you could help

----------------------------- PROBLEM: Certain gas pumps will not fill the tank.
CAUSE: Unsure of cause. Possibly back pressure or something.
SOLUTION: Try another gas station, drive the car some more before filling tank (seems to help), pump gas with nozzle slightly out (about .5"). Last solution always seems to work.
Any ideas why this happens, and am I the only one with this problem?

----------------------------- PROBLEM: 6-Disc changer tray stops working after long periods of use. Car will automatically switch to Radio while playing a CD.
CAUSE: The Disc changer tray has overheated and tripped a sensor. Running the car for long periods, on a cold day with heat on, increases chances of problem.
SOLUTION: Open the glove box and remove the Disc tray. Turn off car heater. Allow at least 10 minutes of time for cool down before inserting the Disc changer tray, and attempting to play CD's again.
-----------------------------
CAUSE: The multi-function display decreases in quality a lot from heat build up, and direct sunlight exposure while the car sits.
SOLUTION: Simply blocking the MFD with something to avoid direct light exposure does not to help much. It seems that heat build up mainly effects the quality of the display. Storage of car in a cool environment will prevent the problem.
