Hello All! I just bought a 99 c230 kompressor so far i havent had any problems with it other than the odometer which is almost out. By that i mean that the pixels on the lcd, some of them don't work and i can barely see the mileage which is about 121k. Any DIY tips on how to fix this? TIA
I am just tring to see if anyone can maybe tell me what the problem is ,I have a 1999 c230 kompressor the all most of my electrical things, such as windows, door locks, turn signals, trunk release stopped working, can enyone help?
I would check battery grounds, other battery cables, terminals, and the battery itself. There may be enough of a voltage drop during cranking enging that causes other systems to fail. Hook a digital voltmeter to battery and crank and watch meter. Some cool meters-like I have-Have a min-max monitor which can capture lowest reading even if you can`t see it on the face of the meter. Fluke meters are the best tools to have around. Good luck

Mine is a 2000 c230k with the same dash issues. I can do circuit board repairs if that is where the problem origionates, just would like if someone could point the right direction to the digital segments missing in odometer and temp guage. Thanks
check your fuses. replace em all. doesn't cost much. if that don't help it could be a vaccuum problem. might have to disconnect the battery for 30 mins and see if everything resets.
I have a 98 C180 and have been doing this for a month now. After connecting the battery again everything will reset and works fine for a few days, then the windows and cetral locking will stop working again..checked and replaced almost every fuse.
Problem: Cylinder #1 misfire, plug carbon fauled
Problem Cause: Ignition cables connected wrong
Solution: Connect them right
Just got my 1997 C280 which I bought dirt cheap with "problems with the injection ", had been struggling to find the problem for the last week now and had just resigned and was about to take it to a mechanic when I read a post here about "coil 1 powering 6"
Could'nt believe it was so simple, was just driving the car working properly for the first time and it went like rocket =)
I actually feel a bit sad for the guy who sold it to me

then you have another issue. could be a fuse reacting to another fuse that's acting up.
my lighter fuse would blow everytime I replaced it instantly and it made my dash lights come on and off. so I just stopped replacing the fuse for the lighter.
Other commom issuewhich I've with my 99 C280 is intermittently Power seats don't work.
Is there a link somewhere? I couldn't find one.
I have a problem with the leading edge of the lower portion of the drivers seat.
I hear the motor running but it doenst move the seat. The rear tilt works fine and also forward and back but not the front tilt.
I assume the cable end that inserts into the motor is stripped.
