95 C220 A/C vent on dash does not open, why?

I have a problem with my A/C vent not blowing out of center vents on dash, how can I correct this? It seems like the vents on the center open sometime but irregular.
I have set to AUTO and have tryed different temp settings to no aval.

Another subject I found a very fine tubeing under my drivers seat which is power type where can I find correct place to replug in under seat, this I guess may be a vacuum hose, maybe this is cause of A/C ctr dash door not opening?

Last Item After new oxigen sensor installed a couple of months ago I have noticed my MPG has improved very much, now average 31mpg, I have 121000miles on car.
Thanks for any help Kene

ac vents are auytomatic. once it gets warmer outside it automatically opens the center vent.

Hey Kene, I have the same problem with my 94 C-220, What I do is that I leave it on 68 69 or 70 degrees and after a few minutes it switches from the defrost to the center vents, I have no idea how to fix the problem yet, I will keep checking to see if anyone knows how to fix this.
