i'm new to the forum and i didn't realize i posted this topic in the wrong place. anyway, i have a '97 C280 sport. i got it used about three weeks ago. after the second week of driving it, a sound started to come up whenever i slow down. the sound is very much like the feedback of a microphone when set too close to a speaker or a ringing in your ear. its high pitched and continuous. at first i thought its from the radio but i drove around with the radio off and it still happens. so i thought maybe its the break pads but a recent event led me to believe otherwise. the car was sitting in the garage with the engine running. i revved the engine to about 3000 rpm and let go of the accelerator. as the rpm dropped, the high pitched sound came on. it continued up until about 1000 rpm. does anyone have any idea what this is?
