Dropped 190E

I dropped my 190E with InTraX springs, and the droppage looks real nice. But i have run into a problem with the wheels.

When we were buying wheels, we bought AmG 17x7.5 MonoBlock Wheels, and 225/45ZR17 tires.
Now with the droppage (8mm pads in front, 13mm pads in rear) the tires rub on the front bumper and sideskirts. We belive it is because of the tire size? Has anyone had this problem, or know of a solution? We though 215/40ZR17 might slove it?

Thanks
Alex

get your fender lips rolled...

I had Eibach springs w/ 16' ROH (AMG replica) wheels...205/50/16....those tires you have might just be to wide

Re: get your fender lips rolled...

The tires your running Alex are too big. I am running 17x7.5 AMG's with 215/45/17 and they are too big also. I have shaved the fender lips using a dremel cutting tool and also shaved a little of the inner lips of the bumpers to fix the problem. If my car was not lowered, it probably would not rub but I am using Bilstein sports and Eibach springs. The car looks good and the wheels/tires fill up the wheel wells very nice.

Some people go with the 205/45/17 or the 205/40/17 to get away from the rubbing problems.

replace tire w/ diff. size

i have a '93 190E 2.6 with eibach springs and bilstein shocks...i have 17x7.5 Carlsson 1/6 with an offset of ET30 and 215/40 tires...i do get a little rubbing on the front on big dips, but i can do full turns with no problem...so i guess the best tire size on a dropped 190E would be 205/45.....goodluck

Well its all done

I dropped the car on intrax with AMG 17x7.5 monoblock, and used 215/40ZR17, and it works fine.
Here are some pictures:
