190D AC exclusion from serpentine belt?

I have a '85 190D, 256k miles on it
My AC compressor is dead, and the pulley is making and awful noise, doesnt affect performance though, its been liek that for 3 years.
Is it possible to route another serpentine belt and avoiding the AC compressor, or is it better to remove the comressor and run the belt to the other pulleys.
Unfourtunately, it is not a good idea to replace the compressor since the car has almost had it, and will not be cost effective to fix the car, just want to use it till it can go no more. Then ill go get a 300E.
Love this 190D though.
Thanks
-Donn

bypass the AC compressor

You can bypass the compressor...
You need to remove the compressor (talke it out) and get yourself a new (shorter) serpentine belt.
If you remove the AC compressor, you definitely need a shorter (new) belt.
greetingz,
