Anyone out there know any helpful pointers on installing a 5.0L from a W126 (1980's SE/L/C) into a 1988 190E 2.3 (engine swap)? Brabus did it back in 1984 or something but they don't have the specs anymore. Tips like suspension suggestions, engine cooling, transmission, and driveshaft would be helpful. I have some info already and my cousin is a Mercedes mechanic so feel free to suggest away. Any actual experience would be a big help obviously. Thanks everyone!- Mike

I put mine 'together' about five years ago but it is a bastard for a reason: easy to build, maintain and get spares for. I used a 300hp Ford 5.0 motor, 5 speed trans, Vette differential, VW rack and pinion steering, 400E front brakes, 7X16"<br>Porsche 928 wheels, 3" exhaust, etc, etc. It has AC, pwr. steering, sunroof, pwr windows etc. and is driven most every day. Started with a 84 190D<br>which was a slowpoke but cheap! Used original motor mount points and did NO frame cutting to keep things simple and sanitary. It has one piece driveshaft, no CV joints, 4 bbl carb, stainless brake lines and a custom three pass aluminum radiator. Weight is 3020lbs. and balance the same as a C43 which is 55%/45%. Used a set of Eibach 2.6 springs with Bilstein sport shocks...drives like a four door Porsche! Love it.<br>Any questions, Email me...no problem.<p>
