Changing inside mirror

Hi guys,
My inside mirror cracked into half (the plastic holder), possible due to the heat. Now the question is, can I just change the mirror+holder itself without pulling off the mounting arm? From reading the older posts, it seems tough to push back the mounting arm once I pull it off. Thanks!

brute force either way personally removing the entire assembly is easier than just the mirror face
