guys what about a sticky ICV that needs to be cleaned. It may idle normal sometimes but when you go from 2500 to 3000 rpms to nuetral the ICV maybe sticky causing it to respond slowly thus giving you your stall.
I guess my question would be with the car just idling and then you rev it up to say 2500 and let off does it have the same symtoms without the braking being involved.
If not then it maybe the vaccum dropping low on the engine when the brake is applied which could mean a vac leak in the booster as previously stated.

I went through this same exact issue. Here are things I did and it has gone away:
1. remove fuel pump relay, use 220 grit sandpaper and sand contacts. 2 passes should do it.
2. Remove OVP and check the fuse(s) on the top. Sand contacts as well
3. Take off pipe to idle control valve and spray in some wd-40. Check connector on bottom.
4. Replace Distributor cap and rotor. Replace spark plugs.
If your issue still happens, you may start with replacing the OVP. The main items that could be causing this are OVP, fuel pump relay, engine temp sensor, idle control valve. I found it was just the contacts on my fuel pump relay were dirty.
I had the EXACT same problem about a week ago, i brought it to my mechaninc, he did a smoke test and realised some of the vacuum lines were cracked from old age, he changed them now the car works perfect

Yep, it was that in mine, too. The hoses under the air filter assembly were ruined and needed replacement. Once done... it now doesn't stall. Best part now, it starts right up!
