i dont think there is in mine...im trying to figure out how to take door panel off to see if i can even put speakers indoor.... anyone w idea let me know..thanks for all the help...
The best thing to do would be to run all new speaker wires through the car, and then install new speakers in the front dash, and rear deck. That way you don't have to deal w/ the factory amp, and 2 channel fader as well.
The door speakers are supposed to be small woofers I think.

Active bass system, came in my car and made me realized how much of a pain in my ass it was when i found that out cuz i wanted everything to work off the deck i just put in..if you search for it youll find the wiring diagrams that will tell you what is what on that factory amp. it is kindof a little job to get it out and figure out the wires and what not but the AA battery test is what helped me figure out what wire goes where. oh and i wired them into the rear speakers in the back window. but i do have the wiring digrams for the car. you have a 93 2.3 i have a 92 2.6 really what would the diference be in the stereo oh. if you would like i could send you the pdf file thats got it just let me know. oh ya and dont even get me started on the fader that on the center console lol, advice for that little bugger LEAVE IT ALONE dont even worry bout it cuz im not going to untill i take it under the knife and have a entire new stereo put in. but all and all it worked out really nice and doesnt sound to bad for 1992 stock stereo equipment. but this is what im going for in the doors and the rear deck JL Audio: Products then somthing smaller in the dash JL Audio: Products, then a removal of the first aid kit and a false flip up door to it and a subwoofer in there. anyways hope i was some kindof assistance

Here are your options. I did #4
#1 - New head unit, hardwire, keep existing front and rear speakers. Problem is the door speakers and the fader switch.
#2 - New head unit, new speakers. Problem is, the speaker installs are not real easy, especially the fronts. And you have to fit the fronts under the grills.
#3 - New head unit, new speakers, run new speaker wires. Will have good sound and easy to wire. However, you will have to run speaker wires down the side to the rear. Not really that bad.
#4 - New head unit, new speakers, wiring, amp and subwoofer. Cost is a factor here, and you have to run wires down both sides. Sounds great though. Get a map pocket for the dash and a head unit with an Ipod input and put your Ipod in the map pocket.
i havent really got as far finding the amps yet....are they under the dash? and for the door speakers how do you get to them? can you pop the grill off or do you have to take the entire door panel off,do they have there own amp as well?....what i have done so far is just hard wired the rear and front speakers but fronts were blown so im trying to decide wheather to replace w factory of get after market which i hear is kinda hard to fit....

I don't think there is any extra amp for the 190. The door panel has to come off to get to the door speakers. But what are you going to do with them? From what I found out, it was not worth messing with them. Just use good front and rear speakers. Some threads have identified what speakers will fit in the front. I used Alpine 4", but I had to modify the center tweeter so it would fit under the grill.
1. Replace headunit (pretty self-explanatory). However, when I checked, Crutchfield does not carry a wiring harness for my '92, so you're gonna have to make do with the wires you have (be careful).
2. Replace front and rear speakers. It's already been mentioned, but I insist, please keep in mind that the speakers should/must fit under their grilles. Personally, I put tweeters in the dash, and 5.25 in. mids in the rear deck. I disconnected the door speakers because the headunit only supported 4 channels.
As far as subs/amps go, I haven't gotten to that stage yet. I'll probably just pay some pro to do that part.
