I was a FOOL not to do this when I was "building" my $500 190E! Anyway, I've noticed a weird squirmish feeling in the $500 car's original rear end, so I've decided to put my wrecked 190E's rear end on the $500 car. It's possible to do this without removing the entire exhaust, but it's a little harder getting to the nut holding the two halves of the drive shaft together. I'll probably swap the fuel filter/accumulator/filter package over too since it has to be disconnected from the tank any way. Hell, I might just swap gas tanks too! Anyway, I've noticed the outside lower control arm bushings/joints on my wrecked 190E's rear end look shot. They're $20/each. You think the ball-joint puller available for rent at Autozone will press them out and back in?
There are PLENTY of little nicks and dings that just don't show up in pictures, but it isn't that bad. Here's a pic of the interior, 95% of which came out of my wrecked car...
