An old "Q" renewed but with a twist

Evening folks
I have the old problem that I have forum searched and now scratched my head for 3 days on. It has taken many guises and starts to sound like my prob but when further analysed it is something different. My problem is definetely in the diributor I feel but I keep coming up with narda.

I have the ole jumped Fuel pump with pressure galore at the fuel distributor and no flow at the nozzle lines. My readings tell me that EHA will only affect flow at a richening rate or leaning for that matter....BUT will not stop all flow to injectors even if faulty. I turn the ignition on and push the air flap down and nothing from any of the injector ports although I can feel the resistance of the valve on the air flap pivot. It is far greater when the pump is running.

What I did notice is that I have fuel pressure at the return line leaving the the distributor but off that line is a cylinder I guess it would be the pressure reg as it has a vacum line coming out of the back of it well no flow what so eva from there. I thought it would have opened to regulate the distributor pressure and flow. BUT with all that pressure in there once the flap is pushed down surely it would still squirt fuel out of the inj lines...????

I have pulled the dist totally down and inspected thoroughly and cleaned.
Checked working of the valve and all its action...no split O rings diaphram is not torn... I thought maybe the valve is not striking the pivot off the air flap hence not opening for fuel flow but i wouldnt get that pressure on the air flap that I get when pump is running.I thought maybe with out the pressure reg opening it is bulding up a resistance and creating a lock against it self but with the chance to vent once the airflap is opened it should spew out of the injector ports in the dist. I have seriously read for hours on this one and now played with it for lots of hours and have yet to date to get a squirt out of one of the nozzle lines. Its about time to fly the white flag and ask for help.

I forgot to mention it runs like a dream with an alternative feul supply like areo start or a mist bottle of fuel....as long as I want to feed it manually it will run but I cant get the missus out there running beside the car...she will leave me for sure. Any suggestions/advice

Start with the fuel regulator, just put a new one in there than go through another series of troubleshooting if you get nothing.

Are you in the right forum? Frankly, I don't understand what you are saying. In simple English what is the problem with your car and what model is it?

I suggest you start with what the problem is. Telling us what you have done does nothing to help you with what is wrong.

From what I read, although he jumpered the fuel pump and the fuel pump is running, there is no fuel coming out of the injectors. The fuel pressure needs to be at least 3 to 3.2 Bar for the injectors to open. I would check the fuel pressure and also the fuel pump delivery rate....1 liter in 40 seconds.

Sorry folks I will try again.
I have a 2.0 87 190E stopped running several months ago-
Cause was a poled out fuel pump. Replaced the unit , changed the filter and it still didnt start. So checked fuel delivery at the distributor after I jumped the pump where the relay plugs in behind the battery. Pins 7+9 plenty of fuel pressure and flow at the distributor and it will run on an alternate fuel supply like areostart or a squirty bottle of gas. I have pressure at the line in and cold start and return fuel line until it gets to what looks like the pressure reg and no fuel pressure coming out of that end. So screw my guage on the inlet side of the pressure reg and it only goes to 50lb and as soon as i turn on the key it hits the max on the guage but no presure coming out. So there at the fuel distributor you would think that when you have ignition on and depress the air flap it would vent fuel from the line outlets at the distributor...BUT I have none.

If you have pressure at the line in, but not out, did you check the inlet filter???
