Transmissions...

I sold my '93 190 2.6 to a friend after I found out the transmission lost a brake band. That was about 2 yrs ago and the car is still driving, but the tranny does need to be replaced. I found one on craigslist from a parted out car, but it's an '87 190 2.3 ... so is there any compatibility? He's asking $100... the price is right, but will it fit or retrofit?

If not, does anyone know of a wrecked or otherwise parted out 2.6 that might be a good transmission transplant candidate?
